What to do with leftover scrap yarn?

Is your scrap yarn pile getting bigger and bigger with every finished project and there in no more room for coaster doilies in your home?

Then it’s time to tackle that yarn pile and crochet something different!

Small to medium size Amigurumi don’t require much yarn and look super cute in random colour patterns. I personally tend to avoid using scrap yarn for blankets or clothes purely due to the amount of yarn ends I would have to face afterwards. It’s much easier to hide the ends in toys.

Have fun experimenting with colours and note how the toy changes character when different colours are used.

If you can’t crochet and have no interest in learning this craft? I suggest you make a pompom rug!

They look amazing no matter what colour yarn you have available and are very soft to walk on.

However, keep in mind pompoms require a fair amount of yarn and the rug will look its best if you have a base to attach the pompoms to. A plastic or silicone bathroom mat is ideal. Ensure the pompoms are tight and not too big to avoid them falling apart.
